One thing about a support business — we get some surprising requests.

In his 31 years in business, Don Griffin has framed all sorts of stuff, including a 5-foot boa-constrictor skin and a set of bagpipes. He’s also put some-more photos, medals, memorabilia and other mementos behind potion for some-more business than he could ever count.

The common thread all these equipment share? Customers wish to safety something — a loving memory of a desired one, a impulse of triumph, a appreciated object. They wish to make something seem a small some-more permanent, and that’s where Griffin comes in.

After some-more than 3 decades doing only that, Griffin has announced he’s timid and shutting Frames You-Nique. The store’s final day will be Dec. 31.

Having been in a downtown Gainesville plcae during 104 Main St. for about 16 years and dual other locations in Hall County, he pronounced health problems have forced him to take a prolonged demeanour during a highway ahead.

“It’s been a lot of work, some apprehension and a whole lot of fun,” Griffin said, punctuating a judgment with his heading laugh.

“Basically, it’s been a blast,” he said. “If we suffer what we do, it’s not unequivocally work, and many of a time I’ve enjoyed what we do.”

To do good in this business, Griffin pronounced “you have to have a eye of a engineer and a pointing of a surgeon. You’ve got to move a lot of skills to a table.”

To do good in any business, he added, one should “live by a Golden Rule. Do what we contend you’re going to do. Treat everybody with respect. Don’t overpromise. Be concerned in a community. And, know a value of what you’re doing and assign accordingly — never overcharge.”

Anne Brodie Hill, a longtime patron of Frames You-Nique who has also worked during a business, pronounced what sets Griffin detached from others is that “framing is his passion. He loves to do it. He total it out and creates it demeanour pleasing and creates certain people’s memories and keepsakes will final by generations.”

Griffin concurred this.

“We always uncover honour for whatever we’re framing, even in parsimonious deadlines,” he said, recounting an instance in that someone forsaken by his emporium an hour before a wake use seeking if he could support a print before a rite began.

Whether it’s a photo, a certificate or — a snakeskin, Griffin pronounced it’s been an beguiling knowledge putting internal people’s memories in a frame.

“Almost all we’ve ever framed has had a story behind it, and oftentimes we got to hear a story.”
